Jonni Garro, CPI

Certified Pilates Instructor

Jonni Garro began studying Pilates at 14 years old under the guidance of Julian Littleford after undergoing three ankle and growth plate reconstruction surgeries that the doctors said would end her dance career.  Inspired by the life changing benefits of Pilates that saved her dance career, she completed her certification with Julian Littleford in 2005.  Jonni has taught in multiple studios in New York City and San Diego specializing in athletic conditioning (specifically marathon and triathlon conditioning), rehabilitation, pre/post-natal, weight management, and stress reduction. Additionally, she has a wealth of experience with special populations, i.e. Osteoporosis, Parkinson’s disease, and amputees.

Along with Pilates, she has studied various disciplines and forms of movement including Alexander Technique, Butoh, Suzuki, yoga, ballet, tap, jazz, ballroom, and has crossed the finish line at eight half marathons and the 2010 ING NYC Marathon. She brings her extensive knowledge of movement and her experience with the body into her teaching to inspire her students to find joy in all movement. She encourages her clients to push their minds, bodies, and spirits past what was thought possible.

Jonni is a forever performer and continues to pursue her first love, the stage
